Dr. King has taught for over 30 years at the Associate and Baccalaureate levels of nursing in the traditional, ITV, hybrid and online learning environments.  Dr. King appreciates the challenges of online learning and creates courses with a learning environment that contributes to a meaningful student and faculty experience.

Her past research interests involved pressure ulcer prevention; she is currently focused on incivility in nursing and nursing education. She continues her work toward creating a positive and civil workplace culture.

Dr. King practices nursing holistically and is a Therapeutic Touch and Level I Reiki practitioner. She has integrated mindfulness based meditation and yoga practice into her daily self-care.  As the RN-BSN Program Coordinator, she looks forward to working with students enrolled in the program at UMA and supporting their educational and personal journey.
