Attn Faculty: Navigate Early Alert Progress Reports

On January 31, all instructors will receive an email with a link to fill out an Early Alert Progress Report for their course(s). The Early Alert Progress Report is primarily concerned with those students that have “Never Attended Class/Logged into Brightspace.” However, should this not be the reason you are concerned about a student, there will be three other options to choose from. Please choose only one alert reason per student. If you have multiple concerns, please select “Multiple or Other Concerns” as your alert reason, and please leave a brief note about your concern(s).

Progress reporting allows UMA to maintain regulatory compliance in

  • Federal Financial Aid,
  • Veterans’ Services, and
  • TRIO Student Support Services.

Progress reporting is also essential to

  • athletic eligibility,
  • student employment eligibility,
  • student persistence, and
  • institutional retention.

A link in the email will take you directly to the progress report form. The form will open by 12PM on 1/31 and is due by 2/7. However, should additional time be needed, it will remain open through 2/9 until midnight.

Advising staff will reach out to offer assistance to those students that faculty indicate are not attending class, or are otherwise struggling or not being successful in class. If you have any questions about the purpose, scope, or procedure for Navigate Progress Reports, please contact uma.eab@maine.edu.
