Career resources available through the UMA Libraries

Are you getting ready to start or switch up your career? Or do you need some support around building a resume or writing a cover letter? Take advantage of these library resources:

  • Peterson’s Career Prep Database. Discover which careers suit you best, research potential career options, and explore the requirements and outlooks for the occupations you’re interested in. Peterson’s also has a resume building tool and cover letter help. To access Peterson’s Career Prep, be sure you’re logged into your UMA account, go to the library databases list and scroll to Peterson’s Career Prep. If you run into any issues, contact the library.
  • You can also meet with a career coach via the Maine Department of Labor Career Center! Every second Thursday of the month from 10-12, Maine Career Center will be in our Collaboration Zone in Katz Library. The Career Center can help you with job searching, resume building, interview skills, training & education assistance, federal bonding information, veteran services, and job search assistance. If you are outside of the Augusta area, they can also meet with you virtually! FMI contact Shane McKenzie at shane.mckenzie@maine.gov
