LEWISTON – The University of Maine at Augusta (UMA) will hold an Information Session on Thursday, July 26, from 4 to 6 p.m. in Room 108, at USM’s Lewiston-Auburn Campus (LAC), located at 51 Westminster St, Lewiston.
The informal Info Session will include a tour of UMA’s operations at the campus, and information on the admissions process, financial aid and tuition, and academic programs.
UMA has recently introduced new programs in Business and Public Administration at the Lewiston campus, along with two baccalaureate degrees in Applied Science and Liberal Studies for community college graduates who have earned an associate’s degree. An option to enroll in education classes that provide a pathway for K-12 teaching opportunities is also now available. Overall, UMA offers nearly 30 different degree programs and 20 certificates in Lewiston.
Counselors will be on site to provide assistance to prospective students in completing the UMA admissions application (now free), and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Attendees can also learn about the various scholarships offered by UMA, including the Osher New Beginnings Scholarship which can cover the entire cost of one course, including books and required materials.
“UMA has a long history of serving students in the Lewiston-Auburn area, and throughout the state,” said Jim Bradley, Director of UMA’s locations in Lewiston, Rumford, and South Paris. “They recognize the value of a UMA education, and also appreciate the program quality and the ability to complete their coursework onsite here, at other UMA locations, and online.”
