Six Simple Steps to Apply to UMA’s B.Arch Program
In this section you will find information regarding the application process for our undergraduate Bachelor of Architecture degree program, as well as information regarding financial support.
Rolling Admissions are open until May 15.
Step 01: Review the B.Arch Admission Criteria
Because of the importance our program plays in northern New England, UMA/ARC has developed admissions requirements for a variety of new, transfer, and alumni students. Depending on your status, we have tailored an application process to you.
Review the B.Arch Admission Criteria to understand YOUR specific application requirements.
Step 02: Complete the UMA Short Application Form
Complete the University of Maine System application online.
Current UMA students should use the Change of Program Form.
Please note: There is no fee for submitting the Change of Program form.
UMA alumni applying for readmission should download the Readmission Application.
International students should download the Short-Form International Student Application.
To download applications, you must have
Adobe’s free Acrobat Reader installed on your computer.
Step 03: Send UMA a $40 application fee.
Checks should be made payable to UMA.
Step 04: Send UMA your Official Transcripts or your GED/HiSET Test Scores*
High School & GED/HiSET – If you have a copy of your transcripts or GED/HiSET scores, just attach them to your Application Form. Otherwise, call your high school or GED/HiSET Test Location and ask them to send transcript or scores directly to the address below.
College – Contact any colleges where you have taken courses and have them send an Official Transcript (no faxes or photocopies) directly to the address below.
Please Note: Some students are required to take academic placement testing prior to the admission review. Please refer to our Responsible Admission Policy.
*If you are a current student or alumni of UMA your transcripts are already on file.
Step 05: Download Recommendation Forms
Download the Recommendation Forms. Two are required, at least one from a teacher who knows you well.
