Dear Campus Community Partner,

The Department of Education recently announced an important change that will impact when students will receive official financial aid offers from the University of Maine Augusta.

  • UMA will begin receiving FAFSA information from the Department of Education “mid-March”.
  • It is still very important, if they have not already done so, that students file their 2024-2025 FAFSA form at studentaid.gov as soon as possible.
  • Students should indicate UMA’s school code (006760) to ensure that we receive their information in March.
  • Students and families should be as accurate as possible! Any changes that need to be made after the initial submission of the FAFSA may cause further delays to the official financial aid offer letter.
  • Monitor our website at uma.edu/financial/ for information on changes related to FAFSA Simplification.
  • Students and families can schedule in-person and zoom advising appointments with the Office of Financial Aid for assistance with navigating and completing the new FAFSA (once it is available). These appointments can be scheduled at umafa@maine.edu

As always, please contact the Office of Financial Aid at 207-621-3412 or at umafa@maine.edu  with any questions you may have.

Sincerely,

Jamie Santiago

Director of Financial Aid
