Adult Education at the East Millinocket Center

The Katahdin Higher Education Center in East Millinocket and RSU 67/Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln are pleased to participate in a community Adult Education partnership. This program aims to assist adults in the Katahdin Region to secure greater economic opportunities by providing cost-effective and attainable pathways to secondary education by also earning a high school equivalency diploma.

The HiSET (formally known as the GED) testing and the administration of the E-CASAS exam (an assessment of foundational skills knowledge), as well as personalized support, will be offered under the necessary state policies and guidelines for those in need of foundational academic skills to raise aspirations for academic progress and employment through academic and employability training. RSU 67 and The Katahdin Higher Education Center will collaboratively provide locally accessible classes via technology as well as professional academic and career advising services and tutoring.

This program is made possible with grant funding from The Gloria C. MacKenzie Foundation and the State of Maine DOE.
