Bio

After graduating from USM in 2005 Kristie began working in a small community hospital.  In the beginning, she thought she would get her  year of medical surgical experience and move to a bigger hospital, but developed a fondness for nursing in a small community hospital.  Kristie stayed at that job for seven years before moving to a position with a  home health nursing agency. She valued that job the most in her entire nursing experience.  It taught her a great deal about the importance of proactive care and patient teaching.  Kristie graduated from Walden University with her MSN in 2014.  Currently she is pursuing her PhD in Nursing Education, also from Walden University, and expects to be completed by 2023.  Between work and being in school,  she spends a lot of time at the computer, but values the importance of family, always trying to make time for her mother and sister.  Kristie has a four-legged friend named Lulu who brings joy and frustration to her life in equal measure.  Her most favorite thing in the world to do is swimming in the summertime.  Due to remote working this summer she did try to grow some herbs this year and most likely will try to expand out to some vegetables in the summer of 2021.
