Student Life - Mountaintop

The Office of Student Life provides an opportunity for students and campus organizations to participate in a variety of activities such as cultural tours, museum visits, concerts and seasonal events. Activities vary from semester to semester depending upon the desires of the student body. Students are encouraged to participate in these activities to enhance and develop a meaningful college experience.

One of the great things about going to a university like UMA is that there is plenty to do beyond classes and studying!

The Student Programming Fund Committees administer a portion of the Student Programming budgets on the Augusta and Bangor campuses. These funds are reserved to support student activities and events organized by UMA departments and/or student clubs/organizations.

Funding Guidelines:

  • Requests for funding must be submitted using the SGA/Student Programming Fund Request Form and received at least one month prior to the event.
  • While individuals are welcome to initiate projects, all activities must be sponsored or co-sponsored by a recognized UMA organization or unit.
  • Activities must not be purposely exclusionary, i.e., all UMA students must be eligible and invited to participate in the funded activities. Activities intended for the sole benefit of students in a specific academic program (e.g., Aviation students attending a conference/professional meeting) do not qualify for funding by the Student Programming Fund.
  • Within one month of the activity/event, the sponsoring organization/unit must complete an Activity/Event Debrief Form which will be submitted to the SPF. Failure to complete this form may impact future funding eligibility.
