Candidates for the Augusta Campus SGA

David Jajliardo - Augusta SGA - Budget & Finance ManagerDavid Jajliardo – Candidate for Budget & Finance Manager

The Budget and Finance Manager is responsible for accurately accounting for all monetary transactions of the SGA, advising the SGA on all financial matters, developing and submitting a budget to the SGA for approval, and the authorization of SGA-approved expenditures.

The Activities Coordinator is responsible for planning, developing, and promoting varied activities and events that benefit the student body, and assessing the effectiveness of these activities.


Vanessa Woods - Augusta SGA - Student Body RepresentativeVanessa Woods – Candidate for Student Body Representative

Vanessa, from Augusta, is a sophomore in the interdisciplinary studies program with a focus on peace, justice, and conflict resolution.

“Being an active member in the community is important to me and while going to school, I would like the opportunity to do so through the SGA. I am an organized person as well as an active listener and have experience in leadership through CANMP (Capital Area New Mainers Project).”

Student Body Representatives are responsible for attending SGA, GA, and committee meetings, aiding in the planning, promotion, and delivery of SGA-sponsored activities and events.

Candidates for the Bangor Campus SGA

Grace Hills - Bangor SGA - PresidentGrace Hills – Candidate for President

Grace, from Bangor, is a second-year student in the Veterinary Technology program.

“This year I’m going into my second year of being a part of the SGA. I’ve been the Vice President for the SGA and Executive Secretary for the General Assembly. I enjoy being able to represent the UMA student body and look forward to continuing to do so.”

The President is responsible for presiding over SGA and Executive Board meetings, overseeing the management of the budget, appointing members to committees and the General Assembly, and speaking on behalf of the student body of his/her campus.


Colby Quinlan - Bangor SGA - Executive SecretaryColby Quinlan – Candidate for Executive Secretary

Colby, from Canaan, is a first-year student in the Dental Hygiene program.

“I have been a senior Pharmacy technician at my pharmacy for the past year and was in leadership positions for previous clubs. My goal is to make everyone feel heard and included.”

The Executive Secretary is responsible for accurately recording all discussions, actions, and assignments of the SGA, posting the agendas and meeting minutes of the SGA and General Assembly in accessible areas of campus, and assisting with correspondence to students regarding upcoming events.

Callie, from Albuquerque, N.M., is a junior in UMA’s Interdisciplinary Studies program.

“Leadership is a passion of mine and I’d like to lend my skills in this area to my fellow students. I am an organized and busy person, as a farmer I have to round up many things – animals, vegetables, and also as a student organizing is part of this lifestyle…”

Mandy, from Glenburn, is a first-year student majoring in Business Administration.

“I’m a new student at UMA that’s looking for opportunities to get involved. I’m looking forward to being a part of the student government and advocating for students.”

Heidi, from Brewer, is a senior majoring in Mental Health & Human Services.

“I have been a leader involved in SGA for my third year now and although I will need to take a smaller role this year, I hope to still be a part of the team.”
