Important Information for UMA Employees: UMS Workplace Policies and Guidance regarding COVID-19

Dear UMA Community,

The University of Maine System has issued policies and guidelines regarding COVID-19 that are available in the document below and will soon be available on the UMS Health Advisory website and UMA’s Preparations and Planning site, uma.edu/remote. Should there be specific questions regarding these policies and guidelines, please consult with your supervisor or Human Resources. As this situation evolves, our responses and approaches to ensure the safety of the UMA Community may also evolve and updates will be provided accordingly.

Additionally, if you have not already done so, please be sure to do the following:

  1. Update your contact information in MaineStreet. Additional instruction on how to review and update your information is available here.
  2. Sign up for Emergency Alerts. All maine.edu emails automatically receive Emergency Alerts unless you opt-out. You may check your current alert status here and options for email and/or text alerts are available. (This same Emergency Alert System announces weather cancellations.)

Completing these steps will ensure that we are able to communicate with everyone in the most effective ways needed.
