Duncan serves as the Photographer and Social Media Specialist. In this role, he leads student-facing communications with a strong emphasis on digital storytelling, social media strategy, and visual content that reflects the energy and diversity of the UMA community. At the heart of Duncan’s work is a commitment to telling student stories in ways that feel authentic, accessible, and engaging. From capturing pivotal moments at Commencement and Convocation to highlighting everyday campus life, Duncan uses photography, video, and creative design to bring UMA’s events and initiatives to life. He plans, produces, and schedules compelling content across a wide range of platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Threads, YouTube, LinkedIn, and beyond, ensuring messaging is both platform-appropriate and aligned with UMA’s brand standards. Duncan plays an active role in promoting student-related events across UMA campuses, centers, and virtual environments. This includes supporting admissions activities, Student Life programming, awards ceremonies, and athletic competitions through coordinated social media campaigns, digital graphics, e-newsletters, and targeted outreach. As the primary photographer for student-focused and major university events, Duncan ensures that key moments are documented and shared in ways that resonate with current and prospective students. In addition to visual storytelling, Duncan oversees the development, production, and distribution of UMA’s weekly student e-newsletter, collaborating with campus partners to keep students informed and engaged. He also works closely with colleagues across departments to support website updates, execute recruitment and retention campaigns, and repurpose content for maximum impact across multiple channels. Always keeping an eye on emerging trends in social media and creative design, Duncan brings a forward-thinking approach to UMA’s marketing efforts. His work reflects a blend of technical skill, strategic planning, and a genuine passion for fostering connection and belonging within the university community. |
