Edward Hess is the Library Specialist for the Nottage Library at UMA Bangor. Bringing a strong background in public service and intercultural communication, Edward previously served as the Administrative Specialist for the University of Maine’s Intensive English Institute. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo and offers a unique global perspective gained from his time as a Peace Corps Volunteer in West Africa. Edward is eager to support the UMA community and help library users navigate and access the resources they need. He moved to Maine in June 2024 and is currently focused on cultivating his career as an information professional. Outside of work, Edward stays active by volunteering with his local public library and historical society. When he isn’t at the library desk, he enjoys cooking, reading, and learning other languages. |
