Madison Cook is a designer and educator with more than a decade of experience in architectural study, practice, and teaching. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a Master of Architecture from Tulane University. She currently teaches in the Architecture department at the University of Maine at Augusta, where she is committed to supporting design education in Maine through research-driven and experimental pedagogical practices. Previously, Madison taught at Virginia Tech’s School of Architecture, where she led first- and second-year design studios, coordinated the fifth-year thesis program, and developed interdisciplinary initiatives across architecture and the arts. She has also taught introductory courses at Tulane University’s School of Architecture and the Built Environment. Her teaching and research foreground architectural analysis, precedent study, diagrammatic thinking, and the integration of analog and digital methods, and she has presented her research at conferences across the country. In 2024, she received the Virginia Tech School of Architecture’s New Faculty Teaching Award. Madison has led architecture student travel programs throughout Europe to study sustainable urbanism and socially grounded design. She believes that it’s possible for Maine to lead the way in building a more beautiful world. |
