Nancy Mickles-Foster

Nancy Foster teaches in both the dental hygiene and dental assisting programs in a wide array of didactic, online, laboratory, and clinical courses. She is currently an active member and clinical board examiner for the Commission on Dental Competency and Assessment (CDCA). Nancy served as complaint officer and past member and Treasurer/Secretary of the Maine Board of Dental Practice. She has co-authored a multitude of research articles that appeared in the Journal of Periodontology, Journal of Dental Research, Journal of Clinical Periodontology, International Journal of Evidence-Based Practice for the Dental Hygienist, and the Journal of Dental Hygiene.

Early in her career, Nancy worked in the non-surgical periodontal practice at the Forsyth Institute in Boston, Massachusetts. Nancy also held a position as a clinical research co-investigator at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine in Boston. She worked with both industry and governmental entities on a variety of research projects for many years before moving to Maine.
