Bio

Nnora Bowne has 30 years of experience teaching business courses at the college level: 16 years at UMA, and 14 years at Emmanuel College in Boston. She earned recognition as Facilitator of the Year at Emmanuel. Nora has developed business strategies and operational effectiveness, organizational development, team building, and strategic planning for various nonprofits.

Nora also has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare operations. Notable positions include:

  • Chief Operating Officer of an international medical society, formerly the North American Society for Pacing and Electrophysiology, now identified as the Heart Rhythm Society.
  • Executive Director of the Health Professionals Training Institute, an educational program dedicated to providing training for immigrant and disadvantaged women
  • Director of numerous hospital-based departments, including Admissions, Marketing, Quality Improvement, Planning, Women’s Health and Joint Replacement

  • Director, State of Maine, Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program
