Bio

With a philosophy degree and a background in construction, Ryan brings a breadth of experience, having worked in positions as diverse as a Historic Architect in Alaska’s remote Wrangel St. Elias National Park and as a researcher studying micro enterprise businesses in East London. He has a Master of Architecture from the University of Oregon and has been practicing in New England for more than 15 years.

Outside of his position as a Senior Associate at Scott Simons Architects, where he engages daily with all aspects of professional practice, he also serves as the Speaker Chair for the Architalx lecture series in Portland and is currently a member of the AIA-Maine COTE (Committee on the Environment). His commitment to architecture is grounded in his passion for community engagement and sustainable design. He has an appreciation for the real world complexity of the process and an abiding dedication to the realization of design.
