UMA Student Studying Remotely

Since you can’t come to campus, we invite you to learn more about UMA by joining our live virtual information sessions. Hosted by our counselors, these sessions enable prospective students and applicants to connect with us face to face using an online platform:

Upcoming Walk-in Sessions

Join members of the Admissions Team for a 60-minute information session designed for prospective students, applicants and newly accepted students. In these Virtual Walk-in information sessions, you will meet with Admissions staff and a UMA Student Ambassador who will provide insight and advice as you explore UMA and navigate the application process. These sessions will also provide you the opportunity to engage with others and ask any questions you might have.

Where:

From the comfort of your own living room, bedroom or remote learning hotspot. We will be using Zoom – it’s easy and free to access from your laptop, desktop or mobile device!

What we will discuss:

  • Academic programming
  • Locations and modalities
  • Student life, clubs and athletics
  • Housing
  • Student success resources
  • Financial aid overview
  • Application Process
  • How to communicate with us in our remote working environment
  • Open Q&A from attendees

Who should attend:

Our student demographic is diverse so high school students, transfer students, first-time adult learners and returning UMA students are encouraged to attend.

NEACAC Virtual College Fairs

Tuesday, October 13 – 6:00-8:00 pm EDT

Thursday, October 29 – 6:00-8:00 pm EDT

Sunday, November 15 – 1:00-3:00 pm  EDT

You can join us LIVE at the NEACAC Virtual College Fairs this fall! Our virtual booth will allow students and their families to meet with admission counselors, watch videos, download admission materials, and ask questions. We hope to meet you there.

The UMA Admissions team will be dedicating time each day, Monday-Friday from 2pm – 3pm to Maine Community College transfer students for appointments. Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) Info Day

Saturday, November 7 – 10:00 am EDT

 

Built on over 30 years of providing excellent architectural education, our B.Arch degree is Northern New England’s only professional architecture degree. The Info Session will allow prospective students to meet with Admissions staff, UMA Architecture faculty, and current students in the program.

Program:

  • 10:00am – Welcome, Program Overview, Q&A
  • 10:45am – Current Student Panel Discussion
  • 11:15am – Portfolio Workshop – What do schools look for?
  • 11:30am – Admissions information and UMA Student Housing
  • 11:45am – Virtual Tour of Handley Hall

Accessing Financial Aid Workshop

This information session is offered in partnership between UMA and the Maine Educational Opportunity Center (MEOC). It will provide financial aid basics such as applying for financial aid with the FAFSA, an overview of financial aid terms and processes, and outreach resources for help with applying for financial aid. https://meoc.maine.edu/
