Student Parliament/DESC Roundtable Meetings
Parliament & Distance Education Student Coordinator (DESC) Open Meetings Roundtable Meetings, held on Thursdays at 5:30 PM via Zoom.
These meetings are designed to create a direct, open line of communication between the student body, student government, and leadership. Whether you want to learn how student government works, share concerns, ask questions, or simply listen in, your participation is welcome and encouraged.
Meeting Focus by Week:
- 1st & 3rd Thursdays: Student Parliamentary Committee
Learn about the parliamentary process, current initiatives, and how decisions are made that impact students. - 2nd & 4th Thursdays: DESC & Student Issues
A space for distance education students—and all students—to raise concerns, discuss challenges, and share feedback. - 5th Thursday (when applicable): Open Town Hall
An open-format discussion for any topics students wish to bring forward.
These meetings are hosted by Parliamentary Committee Chair Miranda Hopkins and Distance Education Student Coordinator Arthur Belanger. The goal is to foster transparency, inclusion, and meaningful student engagement in a respectful and accessible environment.
You do not need prior experience with student government to attend. All voices matter, and all students are encouraged to participate at whatever level they feel comfortable.
