Find Your Next Job at UMA’s Fall Job & Resource Fair on Wednesday, October 7

Three people speak at an information table during a job and resource fair. Brochures, hiring information, pens, and other materials are displayed on the table.

Free and open to the public. Bring your resume and connect face-to-face with dozens of employers hiring across Maine, right here in Augusta.

On Wednesday, October 7, UMA’s Augusta campus turns into a hiring hub. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Randall Student Center, more than 45 employers will be on site and ready to talk with job seekers. Join us whether you’re launching a career, changing direction, or just seeing what’s out there. It’s free, and open to everyone!

This year’s employers span more than a dozen industries — healthcare, state and federal government, banking, manufacturing, engineering, law enforcement, human services, and more. You’ll find major Maine employers like MaineHealth, Northern Light Health, Kennebec Savings Bank, General Dynamics Bath Iron Works, Maine DHHS, MaineDOT, and Hannaford, alongside many others recruiting for current and upcoming openings.

A tip worth knowing: many organizations hire across departments you might not expect — IT, finance, administration, and operations — so it’s worth talking with employers even when they’re outside your field. Come ready to make an impression; a short introduction and a stack of resumes go a long way.

Tips for success

  • Bring several copies of your resume (more than you think you’ll need).
  • Prepare a quick 30–60 second intro about the kind of role you’re after.
  • Skim the employer list ahead of time and pick a few to prioritize.
  • Stay open to employers you hadn’t considered.

Want a second set of eyes first? Currently enrolled UMA students can email umacareer@maine.edu for a resume review before the fair (please allow two business days).
