Dear UMA Faculty and Staff,
As we wrap up another semester and look forward to a slower pace over the summer, we’re excited to introduce ourselves as your newly formed Wellness Collaborative. The Wellness Collaborative is made up of staff and faculty across UMA who are passionate about creating a culture of well-being. You’ll meet us soon!
Our mission is simple: to support you — our faculty and staff — in cultivating meaningful wellness practices that nurture your physical, mental, and emotional health. Whether you’re working on campus, at a center, or remotely, we aim to build a connected and inclusive approach to wellness across our university community.
Although we’ll be officially launching programming in the Fall 2025 semester, we didn’t want to wait that long to say hello and share a few easy wellness tips to help you recharge this summer:
🧴 Wear sunscreen every day – Your future self will thank you. SPF 30 or higher, even on cloudy days!
💧 Drink more water than coffee – We know… bold. But hydration is one of the best energy boosters out there.
🥾 Move outside – Whether it’s a hike, a paddle, or just a walk around the block, nature has serious mood-lifting capabilities.
We’ll be back in the Fall with opportunities to connect, learn, and grow together. Until then, take care of yourselves, rest when you can, and find moments that bring you joy.
Wishing you a safe and restorative summer,
The Wellness Collaborative
