Nominations are Open for Bangor Campus Awards & Scholarships

Deadline: Friday, April 3, 2026

Annually, the Bangor campus recognizes individuals who have exemplified academic scholarship, service, governance, overcoming personal hardships, and contributions to campus life.

In addition to these, we are also accepting applications/nominees for the Bangor Rotary Scholarship and the UMA Bangor Scholarship.

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to submit nominations for any (or all!) of these awards before 12:00 PM on Friday, April 3, 2026.

Bangor Rotary Scholarship Nomination Form

Each year, the Bangor Rotary Scholarship is awarded to a non-traditional, non-graduating student from the Bangor area/campus who exemplifies the values of honesty, integrity, leadership, and citizenship.

UMA Bangor Scholarship Nomination Form

The UMA Bangor Scholarship is awarded to a student who attends UMA Bangor, is dedicated to their education, and can show financial need.

In addition to these scholarships, the Bangor campus also recognizes individuals who have exemplified academic scholarship, service, governance, overcoming personal hardships, and contributions to campus life at their annual Graduate & Awards Banquet.

Nominations for these awards are solicited from students and employees with recipients being determined by the designated entity. Please review the information below and nominate anyone you feel should be considered before 12:00 PM on Friday, April 3, 2026.

P. David DeFroscia Student Choice Award Nomination Form

The P. David DeFroscia Student Choice Award honors an employee who has made a lasting impact on campus life and enriched the student experience at UMA Bangor.

Bangor Student(s) of the Year Nomination Form

Three graduating students from the greater Bangor area (one Associate, one Baccalaureate, and one Graduate) will be recognized as Bangor Student(s) of the Year, representing the “best of the best” UMA has to offer.

Tenacious Moose Award Nomination Form

The Tenacious Moose Award recognizes a student who has demonstrated resilience, resolve, and perseverance in pursuit of their education and future goals. Preference will be given to a graduating student.

Outstanding Student Service Award Nomination Form

The Outstanding Student Service Award recognizes a student who has made significant contributions to the UMA Bangor campus through their time, actions, and/or talents. Preference will be given to a graduating student.
