Recovery Looks Different for Everyone

At UMA, we know that recovery is not one-size-fits-all. Each person’s journey is unique — shaped by their experiences, their support systems, and the goals they set for themselves.

For some, recovery may mean maintaining long-term sobriety. For others, it may involve building healthier coping strategies, engaging with community resources, or creating stronger connections at work and at home. What matters most is that each path is respected, supported, and valued.

Our Recovery Friendly Workplace initiative is built on this understanding. By creating spaces where honesty is welcomed, resources are accessible, and compassion leads the way, we can make sure every individual feels seen and supported — no matter what recovery looks like for them.

Recovery is not about fitting a mold. It’s about people being able to show up as their best selves, in ways that are meaningful to them. Together, we can help make that possible.

Recovery Friendly Workplace Celebration

Join us on September 23 from noon – 1 p.m. for our recovery friendly workplace celebration. Join us in Bangor, Augusta, or watch the live-stream as colleagues share their stories of recovery. Refreshments and cake will be served.
