
UMA is hosting a Cybersecurity Open House and Job Fair on Oct. 9 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the new Capital Center Simulation Facility in Augusta.
Come see how UMA is expanding its role in cybersecurity education and workforce training! Students, professionals and community members will get an inside look at career pathways in this fast-growing field.
The afternoon kicks off at 3 p.m. with a short welcome and an overview of UMA’s history in cybersecurity and the vision behind the new simulation facility. The space was designed to provide hands-on, real-world training that helps prepare students and partners for high-demand careers.
From 3:45 to 6 p.m., visitors can connect with state and regional employers, stop by the job fair, and take guided tours of the facility. Employers will be available to talk about opportunities, and UMA faculty and staff will be on hand to share details about programs and training.
Highlights include:
- Tours of the simulation facility, a space created to give students applied, hands-on learning experiences that match workforce needs.
- An introduction to UMA’s Cybersecurity Workforce Development Program, a federally funded initiative that offers free, online, self-paced training for industry professionals, veterans, career changers and anyone interested in the field. The program includes CompTIA-aligned training, certifications and pathways to eight in-demand job roles
- Information about UMA’s cybersecurity programs, including the Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity, Master of Science in Cybersecurity, and a variety of certificates and micro-certificates designed to help learners grow or specialize in the field.
