Meet the Augustus the Moose at Autumn Gold in Ellsworth

Due to inclement weather, Augustus the moose has had to reschedule his visit to the UMA Ellsworth Center to Saturday, October 30. Autumn Gold is still scheduled to take place on September 25.

On Saturday, September 25th, 10:00 am  – 1:30 pm, follow Augustus to a fun-filled time with the Ellsworth Center Student Association as the students offer ice cream treats, face painting, and the opportunity to contribute to the Friends of the Ellsworth Center Scholarship fund to support special student projects and emergency needs.

Additionally, the Student Association is using Autumn Gold to launch their October focus on domestic violence awareness with a fundraising table with beautifully decorated candles and an early preview of an installation of Finding Our Voices. Come walk through the Center to review this preview and plan to return mid-October for the full interactive Finding Our Voices experience. We all need to be aware of the impact of Domestic Violence on the direct victims and the family, the signs of abuse, and the resources available to promote safety and healing. Annually, the UMA-Ellsworth Center Student Association fundraises to support and build awareness around domestic violence, with the proceeds going directly to our community’s DV resource, Next Step.
