Nominate Students for the Distinguished Student and Woodworth Awards before 3/16

Faculty, staff, and other students may nominate students, or students may nominate themselves. If a student self-nominates (or another student nominates a student), a letter of recommendation from a faculty or staff member must accompany the nomination. If the nominator cannot supply all of the information, please contact the nominee for the information needed to complete the nomination.

These forms will close at noon on March 16, 2025.

Kathleen Dexter Distinguished Student Award

The Kathleen Dexter Distinguished Student Award is presented to a graduating student. (In recent years, it has been awarded to an associate or a baccalaureate graduate.) Candidates will be evaluated on academic achievement, extracurricular participation and/or leadership, and community service outside of UMA.

James H. Woodworth Memorial Award

The James H. Woodworth Memorial award will be given to a non-traditional student who is graduating (associate or baccalaureate), who normally would not be recognized for academic or extracurricular achievement, but who has achieved a great deal within the context of his/her responsibilities, and who has earned a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
