Talk on Happiness with Professor Greg Fahy

UMA) Rockland Center invites the community to an evening of fresh ideas and meaningful conversation. Talks on the Town: A Talk on Happiness with Greg Fahy is an interactive presentation inspired by Fahy’s popular UMA philosophy course On Happiness. Drawing on insights from the March 2025 World Happiness Report and exploring diverse cultural perspectives on well-being, Fahy will guide participants in reflecting on how happiness is understood—and pursued—around the world. Known for making complex ideas engaging and accessible, Fahy promises an evening that will leave you thinking—and smiling—long after it ends.

Greg Fahy, associate professor of philosophy at UMA, is a scholar of American philosophy and a recipient of the William James Prize from the American Philosophical Association. His work has appeared in journals such as Teaching Philosophy and Essays in Philosophy. Beyond the classroom, he serves on the Ethics Committee of MaineGeneral Medical Center and the Founder’s Council of the Snow Pond Arts Academy, reflecting his deep engagement with Maine’s broader community.
