The University of Maine at Augusta and MaineGeneral Health have launched a new workforce education agreement to expand affordable access to college courses, degrees and professional credentials for MaineGeneral employees across central Maine. The partnership focuses on career advancement in high-demand healthcare roles, strengthening the connection between education and the needs of Maine’s healthcare system.

Through the agreement, MaineGeneral employees gain expanded access to UMA associate and bachelor’s degree programs, college courses and professional credentials. Priority areas include nursing support, behavioral health, substance use disorder services and medical laboratory services. By lowering cost barriers and increasing flexibility, the partnership helps working adults take the next step in their education while balancing jobs, families and community responsibilities.
