Program Strengths
While there are many ways to “do” interdisciplinarity, UMA’s INT department offers ways to enhance service-oriented fields like justice studies or mental health and human services. Many of our students combine courses in professional studies with INT department courses, which offer a bigger scope of understanding and a social justice lens. This transdisciplinary work connects what students learn in their university courses with the work that they do in the “real world.” The lines of disciplines are blurred and the result is a big picture understanding of the world and the ways that we can make a difference.
