Early in September, Professor of English Lisa Botshon presented her work on the back-to-the-land memoir at the European Society for the Study of English (ESSE) conference at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. ESSE is a European federation of national higher education associations for the study of English language, literature, and culture. Professor Botshon’s presentation was part of a set of seminars on the literature of hope during times of crisis.
Her work brings a distinctly Maine subject to an international audience, and reflects the caliber of scholars teaching in UMA classrooms.
