As we begin the new academic year, we want to provide an update on security coverage at our Bangor and Augusta campuses.

  • Bangor Campus: A UMaine Police Department Officer, Alyshia Dillon, is expected to begin Monday, September 22nd.
  • Augusta Campus: We are in the final stages of hiring a dedicated officer and we anticipate a start date in early October.

Once confirmed, we will share officer bios and schedule meet-and-greet opportunities on both campuses so you can get to know the newest members of our community.

Emergency Phones

On-campus courtesy phones are located in Jewett Hall, the Katz Library, the Student Technology Center and the UMA section of the Augusta Civic Center on the Augusta campus and in Eastport Hall, Belfast Hall, and the College Center at UMA Bangor. Emergency phones are also located in most parking lots, as well as next to pathways between some buildings.

Pressing the button on the pole activates a light at the top of the pole and will automatically place a call to the local Police Department 911 dispatcher. A pre-recorded message is delivered to the dispatcher containing information on the location of the caller. After the message has been delivered, you will have an opportunity to speak directly to the dispatcher.
