The possession of weapons, firearms, and/or ammunition is prohibited on all University of Maine at Augusta (UMA) campuses, UMA Centers, and at all university-sponsored activities, unless expressly authorized by the University. Possession of a valid concealed carry permit issued by the State of Maine does not constitute an exemption under this policy. The only exception applies to duly authorized law enforcement officials when possession is required in the performance of their official duties.
Violations of this policy will be addressed in accordance with applicable university policies and procedures.
Employees may be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination. Students may be subject to disciplinary action up to and including expulsion. Visitors who violate this policy may be removed from university property and reported to law enforcement authorities.
