The University of Maine at Augusta (UMA) provides parking for the campus community while maintaining clear roadways and access points for emergency vehicles. This policy supports a safe and accessible campus environment and ensures that emergency responders can quickly and safely access all campus buildings.
Permission to operate and park a vehicle on campus is a privilege granted by UMA. Failure to comply with this policy may result in your vehicle being towed at your expense, and your privilege to drive or park on campus may be revoked.
Overnight parking on the Augusta or Bangor campus is permitted by approval only from the Director of Facilities Management at 207-441-3686.
Staff, students, and visitors may park in designated parking areas across campus. If you are unfamiliar with parking lot locations or have questions about parking, please contact the Director of Facilities Management for assistance. Always lock your vehicle and keep valuables out of sight. The majority of vehicle-related thefts occur in unsecured vehicles, with items left in plain view.
Accessible (handicapped) parking spaces are located near all campus buildings and are reserved for vehicles displaying a valid accessible parking permit. Permits must be clearly visible, either hanging from the rearview mirror or displayed on the dashboard.
Electric Vehicle (EV) charging spaces are clearly marked and may only be used by electric vehicles while actively charging. Once charging is complete, vehicles must be moved to a standard parking space to allow access for other EV users.
Individuals who need to briefly unload items may park in designated unloading zones near building entrances. Vehicles must have emergency (flashing) lights activated and must be moved to an appropriate parking area as soon as unloading is complete.
