Mission Statement

The mission of University Advancement is to support UMA’s many instructional, research and public service programs through successful friend-raising, fundraising and alumni activities.

Your gift is more important than ever. 2020 has been a challenging year. The COVID-19 pandemic required a pivot to remote learning and working to complete the spring 2020 semester, and many of those adjustments have continued with our Safe Return during fall 2020.  The UMA Community met these challenges, aided by its experience in providing classes online and through other distance modalities for more than 30 years.

Even as we have dealt with the challenges of the pandemic, your efforts helped advance new academic programs and partnerships, addressed critical issues, and received recognition for its student support.

Options for Giving

We are always grateful for contributions to our many scholarship funds. This support is a key to our success and that of our students, as 75% of our degree and certificate-seeking students received financial aid to meet educational expenses.

You may also consider the Student Emergency Relief Fund, designed to assist students with housing, technology, childcare, food, healthcare, and other needs due to COVID-19. These unprecedented times have stretched the financial resources for many of our students. The federal CARES Act funding provided some relief; however, student needs exceeded the available resources and not all students were eligible for the federal funds. A donation to this fund will help meet a growing need.
